Ingredients:
Pound Cake
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cup sugar
1 cup milk
6 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 cup flour
Strawberry Glaze
1 qt. fresh strawberries
sugar
Cream butter and shortening then add
sugar. Cream together. Add eggs one at a time. Mix flavoring with
milk. Shift baking powder and salt with flour thoroughly. Add milk
and flour alternately with other ingredients. (Lemon extract (1 tsp)
is optional for a change of pace.)
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours in
a small bread pan. Cool before slicing.
Puree strawberries in blender, sweeten
to taste. Chill in refrigerator. Pour on top of pound cake slices.
Whip cream optional.
Expect to be asked to make it again,
and again, and again.......
