The images that you find here are JPEG format for easy and direct downloading.
If your processor can not directly mount JPEG images, then you will need to do a conversion to the proper format.
Consult your computer manual or system software guide for the necessary format.
(Windows needs BMP format images to mount.)
All images are offered in three standard desktop sizes, 640 X 480, 800 X 600, and 1024 X 768.
Simply click on the link below each image for the screen size desired for a direct download.
Please remember that system color is much kinder to the subtle gradients than web palette,
so the banding effect seen in some of the previews will not be experienced with the image posted as wallpaper.
I have decided to offer a 480 X 360 preview of each image, rather than a smaller thumbnail, for sake of accurate viewing of each image offered on these pages. This means that some of the pages can exceed 600K in downloading. But I feel that it is worth the little extra time in downloading these large previews in order to be able to better judge the images that could be present for many hours on the desktop. I feel that this is the best compromise from other offerings I have seen where several meg are downloaded blindly in an archive (often resulting in a waste of time) and mounting the actual images to a page. I hope that you find the wait worth the time spent downloading the previews and that you find a desktop that suits you.
