1997! We saw hills and a
great deal of rain at first. Then there was the Bridges of Madison
County. On the negative side was staying at Stalag Des Moines. Amish
Country- A real treat- at least for us!

- Day 4- Wednesday, July 23, 1997 - Des
Moines to Chariton- 55 miles and 1,607 ft. of climbing.
- Day 5- Thursday, July 24, 1997 - Chariton
to Bloomfield- 72 miles or with the century loop, 100 mi.
and 1,541 ft. of climbing (some of which we will climb
twice).
- Day 6- Friday, July 25, 1997 -
Bloomfield to Fairfield- 72 miles and 1,820 ft. of
climbing.
- Day 7- Saturday, July 26, 1997 -
Fairfield to Fort Madison- 57miles and 1,082 ft. of
climbing.
