Since 1994, the first and best Live Ragbrai® Page on the Net

Well here we go again. My 12th Ragbrai. Kristen and I and all of the Superior Hawgs are looking forward to a great ride. It is promising to be one of the more challenging rides in Ragbrai history. But if we survive day one and two, the rest of it should be quite nice. But then, I'm only considering one element.. that of hills. Ragbrai always deals out a surprise or two. It could be headwinds. The heat is always an issue, but checking out the long range forecast- if we're lucky, we may not see any temps in the 90's. And we trained for hills, right? A bit of rain might feel good and test the new fenders being installed on my recumbent. Then there could be plagues of locusts or frogs, but we trained for that, too...right? |

| In other news, I've been maintaining this page for 15 years, counting this one- never missing a day's live report. Since at the end of each day, while the other Ragbrai riders go downtown to party, I've been updating the page with pics and text, I've missed out. After all being an educator, going and doing my homework was part of it. This year, I'm leaving the laptop at home. However, we'll have some video for you within 48 hours of the end of the ride, so check back then. Also- PLEASE SEND ME YOUR BEST PICS SO I CAN INCLUDE THEM IN THE PRESENTATION AND I WILL GIVE YOU CREDIT!!!! According to Geobike, the route for the '08 ride is does not appear to be in any of the top ten lists (longest ride, hardest ride) etc., but mixing the first two days with the elements, they will be the toughest days in the last coulple of Ragbrai years. If you are a newbie planning on riding, you can get all the advice, pictures, text, and experience right here. Click on the links on the left. Of course, you have visited the Register's Ragbrai page, right? But when you visit here, you'll get the rest of the story. |
Click the links at the left for over 1,000 pictures, sounds, and even movies of the last 13 Ragbrais.
