Day two. Seventy miles. The RAGBRAI is more about people than bikes. Folks come from all over the USA and even other countries. Watching the riders pass is a visual kaliedoscope. Many riders get really creative with their "bikes". The Team "Bad Boy" has one bike with a Honda generator on the front and a gigantic jam box on the back. Another team member has a cooler the size of which you would find on a commercial fishing boat, mounted on the rear of his bike. Party time.
A man from New Jersey was pulling a trailer that has a functional two stool bar complete with a beer tap and crystal glasses. The two guys who were born in the late 1930's riding bikes that were manufactured the year they were born. "Gears are for Wimps" was their motto. Tough guys. An eight inch roach was attached to the shirt of a man from Arizona who was riding a miniature bike. Bicycles built for three and four riders were around. A genuine Bone Shaker type bike was on the highway. The rider was dressed in period costume.
