But before the winds we hit the Czech community of Vining. Great breakfast. Two gents were playing their accordian for us.
After Vining we got into some pretty fair size hills. At the top of one of the hills was Gene Kel, Whistler, Poet, Comedian, and Ventriloquist. He happened to have a micro cassette player in his pocket and whistled a tune for us. Talent is everwhere.
In Belle Plain a young lady was sitting on the roof of a Lincoln waiting for her boyfriend. She was a natural model as you can see.

Oh- I may have been the only person on the ride to have my bike run over by a car. I laid it down among a skillion other bikes. A lady pulled out and clipped the rear carrier including the pack I had strapped to the carrier. The rack was crushed around the wheel which I was able to muscle away. The big problem was that my breakfast banana was in the pack. Banana spread. A mess. Threw the carrier away and hosed out the bag. Could have been worse.

Dave- I've just got to reinforce how tough our "Tour de Farms" was today! If it hadn't have been for George, I would not have made it in today. My worst muscle is the one between my ears, and when that one breaks down, my attitude gets bad. He was a great help. Many folks came to town in "sag wagons!". One more picture is of the Tuba Troubadour of Iowa. This man will cook dinner for you in his home and then play the tuba for you in private concert! He really is great! Check out the Tuba he's playing.
Well, tomorrow is billed as a 60 mile day. Our route is not a direct East to West route across the state. Today, we travelled due South nearly all day and tomorrow we'll be due North a few miles from today's route. If the winds switch around to the North, you'll get a report from me not of bike riding, but of what it's like to ride the Hawg Bus!
