RAGBRAI Day 8 - July 29, 1995

47 miles of mostly flat terrain. Winds were light and from the rear.

This was the day we had all been waiting for. A forty seven mile spin to the Mississippi River. It was an easy ride. God bless whoever planned the last day. Few hills and a tail wind most of the way.

Before we left we decided to take a shot of the three Texas riders; Dave, Norm & George. The ride had been fun, but we were ready to return to Texas.

Steve Alt of West Liberty collects and restores old engines. He had a bunch of them running in his front yard. Here's another engine picture.

Many teams wore the same jersey for the final day's ride. The Dairy Aires from Wisconsin looked pretty good.

The people of Muscatine welcomed us with multiple water sprinklers. Nice gesture. Our goal was the traditional tire dipping in the Mississippi River. Dave & I were all smiles. A successful trip.

RAGBRAI 1995 is over. We had a blast. The people of Iowa were wonderful. This is the type of adventure that will bring a smile to my face when I am rocking away at some "old folks" home; perhaps somewhere in Iowa. Hope you enjoyed sharing our adventure.
