In 1995 Amy had to sit out of the World Championships because of a sprained ankle. In 1996 at the Olympic trials, Amy had a spot on the team with one event to go. She was on the beam and on her tumbling pass she slipped off the beam and hit her eye. If she wouldn't have finished her routine, she wouldn't have made the team. At the Olympics, Amy recived the unforgettable team gold, as well as a silver on the bars.
